  • Dyno Vibrato Preamp Signal to Noise Ratio
  •

I purchased a Dyno Vibe Preamp Pedal some time ago to use with a Mark II Stage 88 and while the Dyno tone is great the unit is so noisy and adds so much unwanted hiss that I've had to stop using it.

I tried an EQ, but that affects the overall tone. I've used a noise gate but that affects the sensitivity of the keyboard as nuances below the threshod get cut off and even any signal above the threshold still carries the noise component.

It's probably been a couple of years since I purchased the unit. Have any upgrades been made to the circuit design since that time to address the noise?

    Thanks

Unfortunately it's an unavoidable side effect of the design. The original did the same thing. There is a tremendous amount of gain focused on the bass and treble - I have simply not found any way around it with an analog circuit.
